On June 1, 2017, Beijing- Keysight Technologies (NYSE: KEYS) today announced the launch of a new broadband millimeter-wave network analyzer solution, the Keysight N5290/91A solution. This new solution delivers exceptional metering system measurement accuracy in the frequency range up to 120 GHz, enabling developers in cutting-edge technology to confidently characterize their millimeter wave designs.

The new solution ensures excellent stability and accuracy on on-wafer measurement and connection measurements, significantly improving device characterization and modeling. Its 24-hour amplitude stability is less than 0.015 dB and the phase accuracy is less than 0.15 degrees.

The solution leverages the proven expertise of Keysight in the metrology field. Its calibration function is based on a more accurate database. This database is capable of supporting the 1.0 mm calibration kit (85059B) and the 1.0 mm verification kit (85059V). Based on this, the measurement results provided by this new broadband millimeter wave solution can be traced back to the national measurement unit.

The core elements of this system include the Keysight PNA or PNA-X Network Analyzer, the N5293A Series Compact Frequency Expander, and the N5292A Tester Controller. To simplify benchtop measurements, engineers can install frequency extenders on the benchtop positioner option.

The reinforced 1.0 mm test port ensures repeatability of the connection, improved calibration uncertainty and system-level measurement accuracy. The user can perform automatic fixture de-embedding on the connection measurements or perform calibration on the probes while performing on-wafer measurements.

Optional 205 or 425 provides an optional 900 Hz start frequency that allows engineers to characterize the low frequency performance of the device. This is useful for measuring low loss transmission line structures commonly used in high speed digital applications.

Keysight's collaboration with Cascade Microtech, a solution partner, provides a complete wafer measurement solution (WMS) based on the N5290/91A and Keysight W8580BP WaferPro Express core measurement software suites (software, drivers and databases). . The WMS program provides guaranteed configuration, installation, and support to reduce risk and accelerate first-time measurements.

This broadband millimeter wave solution also supports Keysight's proven measurement applications. Examples of applications include full characterization of amplifiers and frequency converters (gain compression software options), measurement mixers and frequency converters (scalar mixer software options), and calibration of multi-channel spectrum measurements (spread spectrum analyzers) Software option).

Improve ease of use with improved workflows

Keysight has also introduced a multi-touch user interface (UI) for all models of the PNA Series Network Analyzer.
