VR will become the mainstream method for video viewing by 2020

According to a survey released by Ericsson on Monday, half of TVs and videos will be watched on the mobile plane by 2020, such as tablets, smart phones, and notebooks. This is an increase of 85% compared to 2010. In addition research shows that smart phones will also account for 50% of television and mobile video viewing.

According to Ericsson’s “ConsumerLab TV and Media” report, users spend 30 hours a week watching television and video content. Ericsson ConsumerLabs Senior Consultant Anders Erlandsson said: “This year also marks the beginning of the VR and media consumption that we have begun to explore at the consumer level. The data comes from 20,000 online respondents aged 16-69 years in 13 countries and regions. These countries and regions are: Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, India, Italy, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The people interviewed had broadband networks and watched at least once a week for television or video, and basically all used the Internet every day.

Research shows that 60% of viewers watch cable TV on demand, a figure that is 50% higher than in 2010. On-demand service users rose from 1.6% in 2012 to 3.8% in 2017.

The accessibility of content has become an increasingly important factor. More than one-third of users want to access content abroad.

The report shows that since 2012, about 70% of consumers watched on their smartphones.

The study also showed that the weekly teens (16-19) watched television and video for 33 hours, which is unprecedented. In 2010, the figure was only 10 hours.
