The regulation came into effect on August 1, 2016 and was enforced on December 28, 2016. According to the requirements of this regulation, the above parameters must be tested in accordance with the standards of LM-79, LM-84, TM-28 and IEC6 2301.

In addition, from August 1, 2016, the DOE-controlled LED LighTIng Facts label (color label) will be suspended for all new replacement Lamps submissions, as the new integrated LEDLamps DOE test program: DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY 10 CFR Parts 429 and 430 [Docket No.EERE–2011–BT–TP–0071] came into effect on August 1, 2016. Moreover, DOE will soon release a non-integrated LEDLamps test program for non-integrated LEDLamps.

Any application for listing submitted before August 1, 2016 will continue to be processed. Products that have already received the DOE LED LighTIng Facts column name remain in the database database Database. The LED LighTIng Facts Working Group will conduct further investigations and research on the latest DOE regulations and will notify all partners as soon as a final decision is made.

DOE LED LighTIng Facts will continue to accept the submission of LED luminaires and refurbished kits.

DLC has also revised its requirements for LED Lighting Facts. From August 1, 2016, it will no longer be required to submit LM-79 data for bare lamps to LED Lighting Facts. Please note that DLC will continue to accept certification applications for lamps. This change does not affect DLC's requirements for LEDLightingFacts for other categories of products.

About DOE LED Lighting Facts:

DOE LED Lighting Facts is a voluntary performance labeling program for the US Department of Energy's DOE for LEDSSL solid state general lighting products including: integrated LED bulbs, non-integrated LED bulbs, LED fixtures, and LED retrofit kits. Through this project, LED manufacturers can submit samples in authorized laboratories based on industry standards such as IESNALM-79-08, and then submit reports to obtain DOE LED Lighting Facts, thus showing their excellent product performance.
