The T-clamp is used for the lead connection of the main bus or main circuit to the electrical equipment and other circuits, and also for the T connection when the two overhead power lines cross.

For small-section wires, it is also possible to use a splicing or crimping elliptical tube for T-connection. This kind of T is light and easy to feed, good in contact and convenient in construction. However, the clamped T connection cannot be removed once it is installed, so it is suitable for the construction of new small and medium-sized substations.

In small and medium-sized substations and urban distribution lines and 6~35KV overhead lines, T-connections are usually also used. This type of clip is easy to install. In order to improve the reliability of the electrical contact, one, two or three parallel connection methods of the groove clamps are used.

When using three parallel groove clamps for T-connection, the wire clamps are used in a large amount, the price is high, and it is not beautiful, and the Inle can only be used as a temporary substitute in the absence of the T-shaped clamp.

Any type of T-clamp should be guaranteed to have sufficient contact pressure for stable contact. When installing the clamp, you must carefully remove the oxide film in the wire trough and evenly tighten each bolt.

The T-type clamp does not bear the full tension of the wire. According to the national standard GB2314-1997 "General technical conditions for electric power fittings", the grip strength of the clamp should be not less than 20% of the rated tensile strength of the contacted wire. This regulation is achievable for a compression type T clamp. The grip strength of the bolt-type T-clamp is much smaller than that of the compression type T-clip. In the actual project, the necessary calculations can be made for the grip strength of the clamp according to the weight of the down conductor and the wind load.

T-type clamps are divided into two types: compression type and bolt type. The form of T-clamps used in the construction of substations is mainly determined by the construction and installation conditions. The construction method should be as consistent as possible with the installation method of the wire clamps such as the tensile clamps of the wires and the equipment clamps.
