Despite the strong growth momentum, the US solar market still accounts for only 10% of the global market, and it is unlikely to ease the pain suffered by solar panel manufacturers due to oversupply of equipment.

In the second quarter, the average selling price of solar panels fell to 87 cents, a decrease of 44% from 1.56 US dollars per watt last year.
