According to PaulPeng, executive vice president of AUO's global business unit, despite the shortage of upstream LED supply, Taiwan's TFT-LCD panel maker AU Optronics (AUO) believes that in 2010, the global LED backlight TV market share will exceed 20%, and AUO expects that its LED-backlit TV panel shipments will account for 30% of its total TV panel shipments in the third quarter, and its LED-backlit TV panel shipments will exceed 40% by the end of this year. PaulPeng also said that when the price difference in the terminal market is reduced to 1.2-1.3 times, the LED-backlit TV market is expected to show a significant growth trend, and it is expected that this growth will occur in 2011, and the market share of LED-backlit TV will Will exceed 50%.
PaulPeng pointed out that in the third quarter of 2010, AUO's LED-backlit LCD TV panel shipments are expected to reach 1 million units per month, and in the fourth quarter, it will reach 1.2 million units per month.

PaulPeng said that at present, AU Optronics notebook panels have adopted 100% LED backlights.
PaulPeng pointed out that despite the widespread LED shortage in the LCD industry, AUO has deployed its LED supply chain 2-3 years ago, combining its internal and external resources to make its supply sufficient.
