LED lighting has the advantages of low power consumption, long life, rich colors, and strong controllability. Among them, LED downlights, bulb lamps and other products can save about 70% energy compared with incandescent lamps. It is an energy-saving and environmental protection industry that the state has encouraged to develop. Jiangsu is one of the fastest growing regions in the LED lighting industry. Its output value accounts for 12% of the country. The development of LED lighting meets the requirements of energy conservation and environmental protection and can also promote the development of emerging industries.

With the application of LED lighting, our province will be the first to popularize lighting projects in public places invested by public institutions, finance, or state-owned capital. Newly-built lighting projects will use LED products, and non-LED products that were originally used should be retrofitted by stages before the end of 2016. carry out. At the same time, a number of demonstration projects have been implemented in the fields of commercial, industrial, outdoor, medical, agricultural and landscape lighting. All localities must implement government procurement policies for energy-saving products, and government agencies and public agencies should take the lead in adopting LED lighting products. Among the fixed assets investment projects financed or invested by state-owned capital, LED lighting will be an important part of project energy conservation assessment and review.

According to the clear objectives of the “Opinions”, the output value of the LED lighting industry in the province is expected to exceed 100 billion in 2020, which is equivalent to quadrupling the existing level.
