Oculus Rift Core 2.0 public beta update supports Windows desktop and custom space

Oculus just released the updated version of the Rift Core 2.0 public beta, which brought three major improvements, which we heard at the Oculus Connect conference this fall: (1) An interface revision called Dash; (2) ) Customizable space called Home; (3) New features called Oculus Desktop that allow users to access their Windows desktops and applications in virtual reality space. Previously, Oculus Home was only a fixed virtual environment, which is also the home of interface metaphors. You can visit here and start the app, but there is not much room for it.

Users can now add virtual objects to this space and have as many as hundreds of items classified. Some of them are available by default, while others need to get some achievements in the game, login every week, or perform other tasks to unlock.

Oculus said that they will add more options, including user-defined objects (like sculptures in art projects).

At present, everyone can only visit and see other people's virtual "home" space, but future updates will allow real-time interaction.

As for the new Dash interface, it is a flat “window” that allows users to access common Oculus interfaces and connect desktop applications.
