The birth of the G+ glass theme park concept The original Shanghai Glass Factory is located in Baoshan District, Shanghai, covering an area of 29,612 square meters. There are 30 buildings of different ages and sizes in the park. Logon Rouen has developed a 20-year development strategy for the park and has been renamed the G+ Glass Theme Park (Glass, Art, Research and Technology Park). The first phase of the project includes the Shanghai Glass Museum and the Hot Glass Demonstration Center, with a total site area of 5,785 square meters. Shanghai Light Industry Glass Co., Ltd. plans to build a new glass museum on the original site of the Shanghai Glass Factory. Due to the geographical location, it is not well known to the public. Therefore, the strategy of the first phase of the project is not to make profits, but to attract more tourists first. The business strategy of the project aims to enhance the brand awareness of the entire park, enhance the surrounding environment and the brand value of Baoshan District. The concept of the Shanghai Glass Museum has also been formed. The G+ Glass Theme Park's later projects include: Phase II Sculpture Plaza, Phase III Technology Plaza and Phase IV Business Park, all of which will be fully equipped with commercial facilities and are expected to be completed in 2018. "The second category" museum: innovation in the conventional model The Shanghai Glass Museum is one of the few glass museums in China, but its uniqueness is not limited to this. Logon lab has developed a G+ glass theme park development strategy and key project positioning decision for the park: that is, to make the first phase of the park a “second class†multifunctional glass museum. This new type of museum is very different from the ordinary "first class" museum. Ordinary museums are easily accessible, and people usually complete the tour in a short time. The location of the project is far from the city center, and the subway and other modes of transportation are not convenient enough. People are not willing to spend 1 to 2 hours on the road to visit a museum that can only stay for half an hour.
Another feature of the “Second Class†museum is its versatility, which provides a wealth of recreational activities that attract visitors to visit and stay here for 2 hours or more. In addition to the glass-themed exhibition, the Shanghai Glass Museum has a hot glass demonstration center, a DIY workshop, a lecture space, a small library and other rich and exciting activities that enable different groups of people to enjoy themselves.
