Taiwan Plant New Century Optoelectronics launches soil in Kunshan Plant in mainland China

LED Epitaxial Taiwan Plant New Century Optoelectronics and Kunshan City, China's joint venture LED new plant, New Century Optoelectronics (Kunshan) officially launched. The company said that Kunshan holds 51% of shares and 49% of shares in the new century. The new century photoelectric Kunshan plant covers an area of ​​280 acres.

Chairman of the New Century Zhong Kuanren pointed out that about 50 MOCVD machine equipments have been planned for the first phase of production, and will be put into production in Q3 2011. Gu Jianyu, member of the Standing Committee of Kunshan City, is also optimistic about the development of the new plant and hopes to become one of the largest LED chip and lighting production bases in mainland China.

In the new century, Optoelectronics' current revenue in LED lighting applications has already reached 20%. In addition to the Kunshan plant project and the acquisition of the Kunshan LED lighting project, it also cooperated with the Japanese JFE project to develop the Japanese market. The consumer side is also selling in Japan, and it is expected to enter Taiwan's physical traffic channel in Q4 2010.

At the present stage, in the capacity planning of Taiwan's No. 1 and No. 2 plants, it is estimated that the total number of MOCVD machines at the end of 2010 is expected to reach 55. In addition, the number of MOCVD machines in China's Kunshan plant in 2011 is large.
