After two years of development, the number of domestic LED lighting companies has increased dramatically, with a number of 3,000 to 4,000, and more than 50 well-known companies with a small scale. LED industry bases have been built in succession, and the LED industry is in a good situation. Coupled with the good application of the Beijing Olympic Games and the World Expo, the call for LED to replace traditional lighting is also getting higher and higher.

LED shows that the application of Shenwei is very "out of color"

As a new type of light source, LED has attracted wide attention from energy saving, long life and no pollution. It has occupied a very important position in the hearts of major lighting manufacturers and lighting exhibitions. The actual application situation is also very good. There are many good application cases at the World Expo: the World Expo has become a concentrated demonstration area of ​​LED technology, creating a new era of LED applications. Taking the Expo Axis as an example, there are more than 80,000 LED lamps in the whole building for centralized and unbiased control. The whole building is like a transparent giant trumpet, and the hundreds of meters of tensioned film and the Sun Valley connect into a magnificent dynamic wave. The light color gradually changes on the whole level of the tension film, resulting in beautiful and vivid artistic lighting landscape.

Not only the Expo venues, but also the streetlights, buses and other supporting facilities in the Expo Park can also see the application of LED technology. A total of nearly 200 LED street lights are used in the inner courtyard roads of the Expo Park. Not only is the lighting effect good, but it is also very energy-efficient. Shanghai New Energy Bus has also replaced the fluorescent lamps with LED lights, achieving energy-saving and UV-free radiation.

A lot of wonderful problems

Behind the wonderful, LED lighting also highlights a lot of problems.

(1) Heat dissipation: The heat resistance of LED is very poor, and it will inevitably bring about the problem of wick life. The design of existing LED lamps is often difficult to achieve heat dissipation. In a field where heat dissipation is very demanding, it uses very inferior passive heat dissipation methods, and most of them are air-cooled or even closed air-cooled.

(2) Lifetime: LED wick life decreases exponentially with increasing temperature; electrolytic capacitor temperature decreases by half for every ten degrees of increase; MOS temperature increases, internal resistance increases, loss increases, and temperature rises again (constant current Mode), eventually burned. Of course, the domestic manufacturers did not give the life of the specific LED lamps. The propaganda only mentioned that the LED wicks lasted for 100,000 hours, but the LED life bottleneck was in the system driver board, and the LED wicks were not damaged, and the system driver had been broken.

(3) Light perception: Light perception is the visual perception of LED lighting by the human eye - visual perception. Because LED lights are a lighting product, their visual perception is very important. One advantage of LEDs is that the spectrum is pure, but this is a very serious disadvantage in terms of vision. In addition, in terms of price, weight, etc., it also has no advantage.

Is the industry overheated? bad thing?

The LED cake is huge and the market situation is very good in the future. Numerous large enterprises have been involved, and many of them are large-scale enterprises across industries to spare no expense to build their own LED industry base. LED industry shortcomings can not be ignored: China does not currently have national standards for LED lamps, only some local standards. The formulation of China's LED lighting national standards should be based on international standards, which will facilitate China's LED lighting industry to be in line with international standards, and facilitate China's product export and marketing in the international market. At present, the innovative design capability of local LED lamps in China is obviously insufficient, and it is difficult to integrate with the international market trend. At present, there are many imitation and plagiarism; the luminous brightness of the high-power white LED light source, that is, the lumen number, needs to be improved; the heat dissipation of the high-power LED light source itself and the delay of light decay have technical bottlenecks; the high-power LED light source and the high-power LED driver IC itself The physical cooling technology still needs further improvement. In the face of many industry shortcomings, whether it is rushing forward or calmly thinking, it is still worth discussing.

The outlook is predictable but the road has just begun

The prospects for the LED industry are undeniable, but the overheating of the industry is not necessarily a good thing. We should maintain a relatively calm thinking to look at the development of the industry. It is not a wise move to blindly follow the trend and rush ahead. LEDs will not replace traditional lighting for a long time. The LED industry will be more exciting after the market economy adjustment, survival of the fittest and market education. The LED outlook is expected, and the road has just begun.
