Application of small pitch HD large LED display in emergency command center

In 2012, Lanpu Technology successfully installed a 2.5mm dot-span LED display screen at the Beijing Bead Expressway Monitoring Command Center. The display size is 19.2m long by 6m high, with an area of ​​115.2m2 and a pixel point of 7680×2400. This screen is currently known as the largest monitoring center high-density small-pitch LED seamless splicing screen, creating a new era of indoor small-pitch HD LED large screen.

Emergency command center requirements

The City Emergency Command Center is an important facility to improve the government's ability to safeguard public safety and handle public emergencies. The core space of the emergency command center is the command hall. The general area is between 500 and 1000 square meters. When encountering serious public emergencies and need to carry out emergency linkage, the relevant emergency linkage units can immediately enter the emergency linkage command hall. jobs. The core equipment of the emergency command center is the large-screen display wall. When using, the focus of everyone's eyes is concentrated on the content displayed on the large-screen display wall. Therefore, the large-screen display wall must be a high-definition full-color display. Various graphic and video information, with single unit display and group assembly display function, to meet the needs of the emergency command center for different functions of the display.

Various solutions for large screen display walls

In the past, the large-screen display wall usually used projection display. The projection was divided into front projection (or front projection) and rear projection. The front projection was the front projection, and the projector was used to project the image on the big screen, similar to the movie. The rear projection is generally composed of a large flat projector with a square meter square. In recent years, a professional LCD monitor is used to form a wall to realize large-screen display. In the past, these types of display modes have their own advantages and disadvantages:

1. The advantage of positive investment is that the installation is simple and the picture is complete, but the resolution is low, the brightness is low, and it can't be divided into small screens, so it is only suitable for playing one picture. The bigger the picture is, the worse the effect is. It is rarely used now.

2, the advantage of rear projection is that each small screen is a high-definition screen, but stitched into a large screen will have seams. Because the brightness of the bulbs is inconsistent, the brightness of each screen is inconsistent. In fact, the brightness of the same screen is different at different positions and at different angles. Therefore, when a large screen is displayed, a distinct uneven panel is displayed (see Figure 1). At present, DLP technology is widely used in rear projection, and DLP is an exclusive patent of Texas Instruments. There is a big technical bottleneck in localization. Another important defect is heat dissipation. At present, most projectors use metal halide lamps. When the light is on, the gas pressure in the bulb is greater than 10kg/cm2 (that is, 10 atmospheres), the temperature is thousands of degrees, and the filament is in a semi-melting state. In the state, the bulb is extremely damaged or even exploded, and the life is generally less than 2000h. One year's bulb replacement costs up to several thousand screens per screen, and one curtain wall adds up to tens of thousands, and more than 100,000, accumulating for several years, and the cost is amazing.

The projector also generates high temperatures inside. The long-term operation will greatly shorten the life of the projector, and the projector uses a cooling fan to remove heat and generate some noise.

3, professional LCD display, the brightness reaches three times the general rear projection, the uniformity is obviously improved, but the problem is that the minimum width of the stitching frame is also about 7mm, which is much larger than the rear projection display, so that the screen will appear very much when the large screen is displayed. The unpleasant black grid (Figure 2) affects the picture quality. Similar to the liquid crystal display, there is also a plasma (PDP) splicing curtain wall, which is superior to the liquid crystal display, but the price is relatively high, generally up to 100,000 square meters. In order to avoid the splicing frame, the processing of the picture also has two different ways. One is to keep the whole picture unchanged, and it looks like it is like drawing a grid on a photo, and the image under the grid is blocked (Fig. 3b) To achieve this effect, the processing on the splicer is very complicated, requiring the corresponding columns and rows of data points to be discarded around each display. After this processing, although the picture is completely intact, the image under the grid is invisible when the static large screen is displayed. If it is just text, it will seriously affect the viewing effect, because the dot spacing of the LCD screen is generally less than 1mm, and the stitching seam of 7mm will be lost. A dozen points. Therefore, the commonly used method is to not lose data, so that all images are displayed, so that the splicer processing is simple, but the overall size will become larger, and each small screen has a feeling of being pulled apart (as shown in Fig. 3c). This will also affect the overall sense of the picture, especially when displaying a dynamic picture, if a car is displayed moving on the screen, when the car passes through the stitching seam, it will see the feeling that the car is jumping, affecting the viewing effect.
