M2M is one of the foundations of manufacturing IoT. M can be either Man or Machine. M2M refers to all the technologies and means of establishing connections between people and machines. It aims to connect machines through communication technology. Different types of communication technologies, such as communication, machine control communication, human-computer interaction communication, and mobile interconnection communication, are organically combined. In many existing large engineering equipment industries, programmable logic controllers (PLCs) are often used as control systems for equipment.

The existing PLC products with reliable performance and high security are almost monopolized by foreign companies, and the cost is high. And because there is competition among PLC manufacturers, PLC products produced by different manufacturers use different communication protocols, and direct communication is impossible. Therefore, in order to be compatible with their original PLC network, it is necessary to purchase engineering with the same brand PLC. Equipment, choice is limited.

In addition, the traditional PLC products can not directly access the Internet. If you want to connect the PLC of the device to the network and send the device data to the device manufacturer for real-time analysis, real-time warning, online fault diagnosis, you must pass the PLC through the network module. It is connected to the LAN of the enterprise, and then the data can be sent back to the device manufacturer through the form of VPN, and the returned data must be read and received through a specific configuration software such as WinCC. Carrying out arbitrary transformation and development greatly increases the maintenance cost; at the same time, the returned data cannot be interconnected with the enterprise's own information system, resulting in the formation of information islands; since the PLC data transmission belongs to narrow bandwidth instant transmission, it cannot be transmitted. The information such as the live video and the large amount of data, the returned data is not enough to determine the cause of the failure. Therefore, this practice is not only extremely expensive, but also difficult to achieve the desired results and meet the needs of the manufacturing complex.

Due to the above problems and difficulties in retrofitting traditional PLC products, industrial PCs are combined with PLCs or microcontroller controllers. The device can not be interconnected and communicate with the Internet, and the man-machine interface feedback and fault diagnosis and alarm functions of the control result cannot be realized. The industrial PC can handle the comparison because of powerful data communication and data processing functions. Complex computing process, under Windows, can use a visual programming language such as VC++, VB to develop a good man-machine interface, which can easily monitor and process the control process. Therefore, the industrial control system of industrial PC+PLC has been widely used at home and abroad. In discrete and continuous process control. Based on the above characteristics, this paper chooses the combination of industrial PC and PLC, and designs an intelligent controller to replace the general PLC products, intelligently adjust and control the equipment at the manufacturing site, and communicate with PLC devices of different communication protocols. An online service that can access the Internet and LAN to implement product functions. It broke the long-term monopoly of foreign products on the PLC industry, independently researched and developed and greatly reduced product costs.

1 Intelligent Controller Application Architecture

This application architecture is divided into three layers: the awareness layer, the control layer, and the application layer. The sensing layer includes information acquisition devices such as sensors, valves, meters, RFID, etc. The control layer includes different kinds of controllers. The intelligent controller designed in this paper is at this layer, and its main functions include fault detection, fault alarm, and emergency treatment. The status query includes the device operation platform, which mainly includes user management, metering and billing, business marketing, resource management, and security authentication.

The intelligent controller designed in this paper uses the embedded A/D and D/A converter to convert the analog signal (in the form of voltage or current) of the instrument and sensor on the controlled device into digital signal for the control system to recognize and control the system. The digital signal is converted into an analog signal that can be recognized by the meter and the sensor on the controlled device to control the running state of the device, thereby realizing the interconnection between the control layer and the sensing layer.

For the connection problem of different PLC products in the control layer, the intelligent controller integrates the adaptive PLC network communication module, and abstracts the complex fieldbus communication interface into a single communication interface through adaptive PLC network communication technology, and uses it on the interface. Adapt to the fieldbus communication protocol, automatically match the corresponding fieldbus protocol according to the change of the external communication interface, open up the communication barrier between multiple fieldbuses, achieve seamless connection between different controllers, realize internal communication of control layer .

The intelligent controller integrated network communication module provides GPRS/3G communication module to support controller data online mobile communication; provides WiFi module, which can access the local area network through WiFi. Support standard Ethernet communication, WiFi communication, GPRS communication, 3G communication, ensure that controller data can be transmitted to the network in real time, and realize the connection between control layer and application layer.
